Bufo apolobambicus De la Riva, Ríos, and Aparicio, 2005, Herpetologica, 61: 281. Holotype: CBF 5491, by original designation. Type locality: "Laitique on the banks of the river Pelechuco, ca. 5 hours downstream walking from the village of Pelechuco to Apolo, Provincia Franz Tamayo, La Paz, Bolivia, 14° 47′ 09″ S, 69° 01′ 34″ W, 2820 m".

Comment

Sharing with Bufo cophotis, Bufo corynetes, and Bufo variegata, the lack of a tympanum, according to the original publication. In the Bufo variegatus group (now Nannophryne) according to Pramuk, 2006, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 146: 435.
