Syntypes: 6 specimens (MSNG and BMNH), by original designation; including BM1947.2.20.38–39 (formerly 1906.3.30.162-63) by museum records. Type locality: "Basilè, Fernando Po, 400 to 600 metres altitude". Synonymy by Mertens, 1965, Bonn. Zool. Beitr., 16: 19 (not Noble, 1924, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 49: 147-347, as reported by Grandison, 1981, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Suppl., 15: 188).
