Bufo hadramautinus Cherchi, 1963, Boll. Mus. Ist. Biol. Univ. Genova, 32 (186): 5. Holotype: IZUG 5, by original designation. Type locality: "nell'oasi montana di Suia, . . . Hadramaut", 14° 45′ N, 48° 48′ E, 1160 m, Yemen. 

"Bufo" hadramautinus — Portik and Papenfuss, 2015, BMC Evol. Biol., 15 (152): 11. Excluded from Bufo and unassigned to genus. 

English Names

Suia Hadramaut Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 42).


Known only from the type locality (Suia mountain, Hadramaut, Yemen). 


Although placed into the synonymy of Amietophrynus arabicus on the basis of overall similarity by Schätti and Desvoignes, 1999, Herpetofauna S. Yemen and Sokotra: 31, this was disputed by Portik and Papenfuss, 2015, BMC Evol. Biol., 15 (152): 11, who considered the generic placement arguable until molecular evidence is available.
