Type locality: "Cerro Sambalan (2º11′ 56.9″ S; 78º26′ 50.2″ O, 3337 m), Parque Nacional Sangay, parroquia Zuñac, cantón Morona, provincia de Morona Santiago, República del Ecuador". ".
