Pristimantis rivasi Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Barros-Blanco, 2010, Zootaxa, 2329: 11. Holotype: MHNLS 18445, by original designation. Type locality: "Cerro Las Antenas, elevation 1670 m, 10°20′ N-72°35′ W, Sierra de Perijá, Municipio Rosario de Perijá, estado Zulia, Venezuela".

Distribution

Known only from cloud forest in the Municipio Rosario de Perijá and Municipio Machiques de Perijá, Zulia, Venezuela, and on the western slope of the Sierranía de Perija in the Departamento La Guajira, Colombia.

Comment

In the Pristimantis unistrigatus group according to the original publication. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 128. Meza-Joya, 2016, Check List, 12 (5: 1971): 1–6, provided the first record for Colombia on the western slope of the Sierranía de Perija in the Departamento La Guajira, Colobia. See Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris, 2019, Amph.
