Pristimantis pahuma Hutter and Guayasamin, 2015, Neotropical Biodiversity, 1: 42. Holotype: MZUTI 493, by original designation. El Pahuma Rainfrog (original publication). 


 Ecuador in the Provincia de Pichincha in the northwestern part of the Reserva Orquideológica El Pahuma and the Reserva Las Gralarias, 2186–2574 m in elevation.


Previously confused with Pristimantis calcarulatus, with which it is morphologically indistinguishable, according to the original publication.
