Distribution

Páramos del Angel (3500–4150 m elevation) in extreme northern Ecuador; possibly extending into adjacent Colombia.

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus myersi assembly of the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group; most closely related to Eleutherodactylus trepidotus, according to the original publication. In the more inclusive (and monophyletic) Eleutherodactylus pyrrhomerus assembly and the sister-species of Eleutherodactylus trepidotus, according to Lynch, 1984, Herpetologica, 40: 237. In the Pristimantis myersi species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 125, and of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 126.
