Type locality: "COLOMBIA, Departamento de Valle del Cauca, Municipio El Cairo, vereda Las Amarillas, El Boquerón (límite con Depto. Choco), 19.6 km del cementario de El Cairo), 2130 m."

Distribution

Region of the type locality in western Colombia (Valle del Cauca), 2100–2250 m elevation.

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group by implication of the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Placed in the new Pristimantis boulengeri species group by González-Durán, Targino, Rada, and Grant, 2017, Zootaxa, 4243: 42–74.
