Comment

Closely related to Eleutherodactylus kelephus according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. García-R., Mendoza, Ospina, Cárdenas-Henao, and Castro-Herrera, 2014, J. Herpetol., 48: 220–227, compared this species with two species with which this species has been confused, Pristimantis kelephas and Pristimantis calcaratus, both with molecular evidence and morphometrics. Cuellar-Valencia, Gomez-Figueroa, and Bolívar-García, 2020, Herpetol. Notes, 13: 609–612, provided a record from Farallones de Cali National Park, Valle del Cauca, Colombia, and mapped the range in Colombia.
