Distribution

Both slopes of the Cordillera Occidental and the northern half of the Cordillera Central of Colombia (departments of Antioquia, Caldas, Cauca, Chocó, Quindío, Risaralda, Tolima, and Valle del Cauca) at elevations from 980–2600 m elevation.

The species name is a noun in apposition. Distribution and variation within the species was treated by Lynch, 1992, Stud. Neotrop. Fauna Environ., 27: 211–226. Reviewed by Lynch, 1996, Cat. Am. Amph. Rept., 623: 1–3. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) conspicillatus series, Eleutherodactylus devillei group of Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 224.
