Known from subpáramo and páramo habitats east and west of Cuenca (Morona-Santiago, Ecuador), 2835–3384 m elevation.

Almendáriz C. and Orcés, 2004, Politécnica, Quito, 25: 120, provided distributional data for Ecuador. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127.
