Comment
See account by Lynch, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 332, who notes misidentifications in earlier accounts. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 221. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. García-R., Mendoza, Ospina, Cárdenas-Henao, and Castro-Herrera, 2014, J. Herpetol., 48: 220–227, compared this species with two species with which this species has been confused, Pristimantis kelephas and Pristimantis jubatus, both with molecular evidence and morphometrics. See Velásquez-Trujillo and Bolívar-García, 2018, Catal. Anf. Rept. Colombia, Medellín, 4(2): 45–50, for detailed account.
