Pristimantis andinognomus Lehr and Coloma, 2008, Herpetologica, 64: 355. Holotype: QCAZ16695, by original designation. Type locality: "Reserva Tapichalaca, on road between Yangana and Valladolid (04°28′ S, 79°08′ W; 2667 m), Provincia Zamora-Chinchipe, Ecuador".

Known from two localities in the Cordillera Oriental of the southern Ecuadorian Andes (Abra de Zamora and Reserva Tapichalaca, Provincia Zamora-Chinchipe), 2400–2800 m elevation.


Most closely related to Pristimantis caeruleonotus and Pristimantis colodactylus according to the original publication Not assignable to species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127.
