Comment

See accounts by Cei, 1962, Batr. Chile: 83-85, and Cei, 1980, Monit. Zool. Ital., N.S., Monogr., 2: 275-277. Díaz-Páez and Ortiz, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 485-486, provided specific localities and a range extension. Vidal and Ortiz, 2009, Check List, 5: 869-871, reported the species from Butachauques and Talcán Islands, between Chiloé and the mainland, Chile, and discussed the biogeography of the species. Cuevas and Cifuentes P., 2010, Check List, 6: 633-636, provided a northern-most record and disucssed and mapped the range. Blotto, Nuñez, Úbeda, Wheeler, and Faivovich, 2013, Cladistics, 29: 113-131, regarded this species to be in Batrachyla on the basis of molecular phylogenetics.
