Distribution

Widely distributed in Cameroon south of 7° 5´ N, except in the littoral plain and mountains south through Equatorial Guinea to southern Gabon; north-central Dem. Rep. Congo; presumably in western Central African Republic and western Rep. Congo.

Comment

Closely related to Cardioglossa nigromaculata according to J.-L. Amiet IN Frost, 1985, Amph. Species World: 17. This was rejected by Blackburn, 2008, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 154: 624. Penner and Rödel, 2007, in Butynski and McCullough (eds.), RAP Bull. Biol. Assessment, 46: 37-41, provided a record for north-central Dem. Rep. Congo.
