Arthroleptis krokosua Ernst, Agyei, and Rödel, 2008, Zootaxa, 1697: 60. Holotype: SMNS12555, by original designation. Type locality: "on a steep hill, SE of the base camp (at village of Mmem), in the Krokosua Hills Forest Reserve, south western Ghana (6°35.970´N, 2°50.705´ W; GPS geodetic datum: WGS84; altitude ca. 300 m asl). The habitat consisted of dry forest with a thick leaf litter on a granitic outcrop".

Distribution

Known only from the Krokosua Hills Forest Reserve and Sui River Forest Reserve, southwestern Ghana, and the Nimba Mountains in Guinea; presumably to be found in northeastern Liberia and in eastern Ivory Coast in the Mountains of Man.

Comment

Adum, Ofori-Boateng, and Rödel, 2011, Zootaxa, 2744: 34-38, reported the species from the Sui River Forest Reserve, south of Buaku, Ghana, and discussed variation and habitat. Sandberger-Loua, Doumbia, and Rödel, 2018, Herpetol. Notes, 11: 271–273, provided a record from the Nimba Mountains of southern Guinea and discussed the likely range of this extremely uncommon animal. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 264–265, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
