Colostethus elachyhistus Edwards, 1971, Proc. Biol. Soc. Washington, 84: 149. Holotype: KU 120540, by original designation. Type locality: "Loja, Loja Province, Ecuador, 2150 m". See comment regarding type locality by Rivero and Almendáriz, 1992 "1991", Politecnica, Quito, 16: 117.

Distribution

Pacific slopes of the Andes in southern Ecuador (850-2760 m); Amazonian slopes of the Andes in southern Ecuador and in northern Peru in the Huancabamba Depression (1800-2000 m) and south to Cajabamba, Cajamarca.
