Hylixalus collaris Boulenger, 1912, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 8, 10: 190. Syntypes: BMNH 1947.2.14.29-42; BMNH 1947.2.14.42 designated lectotype by La Marca, 1994, Publ. Asoc. Amigos Doñana, 4: 7. Type locality: "Merida, 5200 feet [1585 m], and Rio Albireggas [= Albarregas], 11,300 feet [3444 m], [Estado Mérida,] Venezuela". Incorrect subsequent spelling of generic name.
