Comment

Lötters, 1992, Salamandra, 28: 138-144, doubted the distinctiveness of this species from Oophaga histrionica. Castro-Herrera and Amézquita, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombia: 162-167, provided an account and map. Lötters, Jungfer, Henkel, and Schmidt, 2007, Poison Frogs: 583-588, provided an account. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status (as Dendrobates lehmanni) in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 229.
