Schulte, 1999, Pfeilgiftfrösche: 219-220, provided an account (as Epipedobates labialis). Lötters, Jungfer, Henkel, and Schmidt, 2007, Poison Frogs: 391, provided a brief accountand suggested this to be a nomen dubium, possibly assignable to either Allobates or Ameerega.
