Ololigon abbreviatus taophora Miranda-Ribeiro, 1923, Rev. Mus. Paulista, São Paulo, 13: 844. Syntypes: Including MZUSP 432, which was designated a lectotype by implication by Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 297, and more formally by Feio, Napoli, and Caramaschi, 2006, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64> 57. Type locality: "Alto da Serra, S[ão]. Paulo", Brazil. Given as "Paranapiacaba (= Alto da Serra), São Paulo", Brazil by Bokermann, 1966, Lista Anot. Local. Tipo Anf. Brasil.: 78.

Distribution

Serra do Mar and coastal regions in the eastern part of the state of São Paulo, Brazil.

Comment

Recognized as a distinct species and removed from the synonymy of Thoropa miliaris by Feio, Napoli, and Caramaschi, 2006, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64> 41-60 (who provided an account), where it had been placed by Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 297. Fitzpatrick, Brasileiro, Haddad, and Zamudio, 2009, Mol. Ecol., 18: 2877-2896, reported on the molecular phylogeography of the species.
