Type locality: "en las vertientes altas de Nahuazo, flanco norte del volcán Tungurahua, cantón Baños, provincia de Tungurahua, Ecuador (01° 25′ 53.3″ S, 78° 25′ 33.6″ W, 2720 m)".

Known only from three localities in cloud forest associated with Volcán Tungurahua, Ecuador, at elevations of 2500 to 2750 m.
