Distribution
Elevations of 220-830 m along the western base of the Andes in the northern half of Ecuador.
Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group, nearest Eleutherodactylus quinquagesimus (then undescribed), according to the original publication. See account by Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 138-139, who place this in the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) cerasinus series, Eleutherodactylus cerasinus group. Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 227, placed this species in his Eleutherodactylus cerasinus series, Eleutherodactylus cerasinus group. In the Pristimantis (Hypodictyon) rubicundus group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 116.
