Comment

In species group III or VI of Rivero according to the original publication. Barrio-Amorós, 1999 "1998", Acta Biol. Venezuelica, 18: 18-19, suggested that this species might be in Mannophryne, although this is inconsistent with results of Grant, Frost, Caldwell, Gagliardo, Haddad, Kok, Means, Noonan, Schargel, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 299. See account by La Marca, 1997 "1996", Publ. Asoc. Amigos Doñana, 9: 31. See distributional comments by Gorzula and Señaris, 1999 "1998", Scient. Guaianae, 8: 23-24.
