Eleutherodactylus signifer Ruiz-Carranza, Lynch, and Ardila-Robayo, 1997, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 21: 167. Holotype: ICN 20049, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia, Departamento del Chocó, Municipio San José del Palmar, 12-12.6 Km. por carretera E. San José del Palmar, flanco occidntal Serranía de los Paraguas, 1850-1860 m."

Distribution

Known only from the quebradas along the highway between Cartago and San José del Palmar on the western slopes of the Serranía de los Paraguas, 1850-1860 m elevation, Departamento Chocó, Colombia.

Comment

Considered the sister species of Eleutherodactylus pugnax in the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128.
