In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) conspicillatus series, unassigned to species group, according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 232. In the subgenus Pristimantis, but unnassigned to species group by Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 118.
