Type locality: "from about 7 air km SSW El Corazón, 800 m elev., Bolívar-Cotopaxi border, northwestern Ecuador . . . . the type locality is roughly 01° 10′ S, 79° 09′ W . . . . The type locality was 11 km by gravel road SSW El Corazon on the way to Moraspungo and Quevedo".
