Pristimantis ramagii — Canedo and Haddad, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 65: 613.
Paraiba Robber Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 78).
Paraíba to northern Bahia, Brazil.
In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) binotatus series, Eleutherodactylus ramagii group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 231. In the Ischnocnema ramagii species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 28. Carnaval and Bates, 2007, Evolution, 61: 2942-2957, discussed molecular phylogeography and suggested that multiple species are masquerading under this name. See comments under Pristimantis paulodutrai, with which this species has been confused. Canedo and Haddad, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 65: 610-620, suggested on the basis of molecular evidence that this species falls within the Pristimantis conspicillatus group and may represent a species complex.
