Comment

Considered a synonym of Allobates brunneus (as Prostherapis brunneus) by Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 44, and Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Patrimoines Nat., Paris, 45: 84-85, provided a brief account and photo (as Colostethus beebei). See comment under Allobates juanii. Kok, MacCulloch, Gaucher, Poelman, Bourne, Lathrop, and Lenglet, 2006, Phyllomedusa, 5: 43-46, rediagnosed the species, discussed previous misidentifications, and revised the range. Kok and Kalamandeen, 2008, Intr. Taxon. Amph. Kaieteur Natl. Park, 5: 116-117, provided a brief, but informative, account. MacCulloch and Lathrop, 2009, R. Ontario Mus. Contrib. Sci., 4: 11, commented on specimens from the Ayanganna region, Guyana. Ernst, Rödel, and Arjoon, 2005, Salamandra, 41: 179-194, noted an undescribed species, previously confused with Anomaloglossus beebei, in central Guyana.
