Distribution
Known only from the type locality (Caņahonda waterfall, municipality of Urrao, Antioquia, Colombia, 2320 m elevation) in the northern Cordillera Occidental.
Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus bellona group, along with Eleutherodactylus mars and Eleutherodactylus bellona, according to the original publication. In the subgenus Pristimantis (Pristimantis) bellona species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 118.
