Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) binotatus series, Eleutherodactylus ramagii group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 230. Lima and Skuk, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 487, provided a record for Alagoas, Brazil (although the implication of the paper by Napoli and Brandão, 2003, Herpetol. Rev., 34: 164-172, is that this record may represent Ischnocnema ramagii). In the Ischnocnema ramagii species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 28. Napoli, Ananias, Fonseca, and Silva, 2009, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 4: 164-172, provided additional karyological evidence for the distinctiveness of this taxon from Ischnocnema ramagii and discussed the lack of any definitive morphological features between the two species, as well as suggesting that the record of Napoli and Brandão, 2003, Herpetol. Rev., 34: 161, was based on Ischnocnema ramagii. Canedo and Haddad, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 65: 610-620, suggested on the basis of molecular evidence that this species falls within the Pristimantis conspicillatus group and may represent a species complex.
