In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) unistrigatus group, Eleutherodactylus lacimosus assembly, most similar to Eleutherodactylus schultei, according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) lacrimosus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 123.
