Eleutherodactylus olivaceus Köhler, Morales, Lötters, Reichle, and Aparicio, 1998, Stud. Neotrop. Fauna Environ., 33: 94. Holotype: CBF 3329, by original designation. Type locality: "a point 15 km south by road from Paracti to El Palmar (on the 'old' road from Villa Tunari to Cochabamba), Provincia Chapare, Departamento Cochabamba, Bolivia (17° 06′ 06″ S, 65° 30′ 36″ W), ca. 650 m elevation".

Distribution
Tropical lowland forest in the area of the type locality (Provincia Chapare, Departamento Cochabamba), and the other in the area of Provincia Manu, Departamento Madre de Dios, Peru.
Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to the original publication. De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 46, noted that populations previously referred to as Eleutherodactylus mendax in Bolivia are of this species. Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 121-122, provided a brief account.
