Type locality: "COLOMBIA, Departamento de Valle del Cauca: municipio El Cairo, vereda Las Amarillas, El Boquerón, quebrada 19.85 km del cementario de El Cairo, 2140-2150 m.s.n.m."

Distribution
Region of the type locality (Municipality of Cairo, Valle del Cauca and Chocó departments, Colombia), 1980-2150 m elevation.
Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group by implication of the original publication, where it was also noted that this taxon had previously been confused with Eleutherodactylus calcaratus.
