Along forested streams on the eastern flank of the Cordillera Central, Antioquia, Tolima, and Caldas departments, Colombia, ca. 1100-1850 m elevation.

Unassigned to subgenus according to the original publication. Lynch, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombia: 322-324, provided an account and map. In the subgenus Pristimantis, but unnassigned to species group by Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 118.
