Known only from the region of the type locality (municipio Florencia, Caquetá, Colombia).
Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus conspicillatus group, most closely related to Eleutherodactylus fallax, Eleutherodactylus gutturalis, and Eleutherodactylus lanthanites, according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Hypodictyon) rubicundus group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 116.
