Comment

Padial and De la Riva, 2005, J. Herpetol., 39: 372-379, discussed the species and confirmed its status. Tenatively placed the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) peruvianus species group by Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 126, noting that it may actually be in the Pristimantis conspicillatus group. Siqueira, Aguiar, Strüssmann, Del-Grande, and Recco-Pimentel, 2008, Zootaxa, 1860: 51-59, suggested on karyological evidence that more than one species is covered by this name and that the population from Aripuanã is unnamed. Padial and De la Riva, 2009, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 155: 111, subsequently named this population as Pristimantis koehleri and noted that the reports of this species from central Bolivia by Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 54, was also based on the new species. Padial and De la Riva, 2009, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 155: 111, reported on bona fide specimens of Pristimantis dundeei from Bolivia.
