Distribution

Elevations of 500-1700 m in the Cosñipata Valley on the lower eastern Andean slopes in southern Peru south to Valle de Zongo, Departamento La Paz, Bolivia.

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group, according to the original publication. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) conspicillatus series, unassigned to species group by Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 223. Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 115-117, provided a brief account (but confounded Pristimantis danae with Pristimantis reichlei). In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) peruvianus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 126. Padial and De la Riva, 2009, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 155: 111, provided a distribuation map and named Pristimantis reichlei, which was previously confused with Pristimantis danae. See comment under Pristimantis reichlei.
