In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group by implication of the original publication, most closely related to Eleutherodactylus verecundus. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128.
