Elevations of 2500-2900 m in the vicinity of the type locality (Distrito del Carmen de la Frontera, Provincia de Huancabamba, Departamento de Piura, Peru).
Comment
In the Pristimantis unistrigatus group and most similar to Pristimantis spinosus according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128.
