Eleutherodactylus cacao Lynch, 1992, Herpetologica, 48: 347. Holotype: IND-AN 4602, by original designation. Type locality: "Quebrada Sopladero, Parque Nacional Natural de Munchique, road from Uribe to La Gallera (approximately Km 54), Municipio El Tampo, Departamento del Cauca, Colombia, 2190 m".

Distribution

Cloud forests on the western slopes of the Western Andes in southwestern Colombia (Department of Cauca), 2200-2440 m elevation.

Comment

Most closely related to Eleutherodactylus sulcatus, Eleutherodactylus thymalopsoides, and Eleutherodactylus vertebralis according to the original publication. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 221.
