Pristimantis albertus Duellman and Hedges, 2007, Phyllomedusa, 6: 124. Holotype: KU 291675, by original designation. Type locality: "Río San Alberto, 0.9 km N, 2.1 k E Oxapampa, 1970 m, 10° 33′ 36″ S, 75° 24′ W, Departamento Pasco, Peru".

Known only from the type locality, 0.9 km north and 2.1 km east of Oxapampa, Departmento Pasco, central Peru, 1970 m elevation. .
Comment
In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) peruvianus group, most similar to Pristimantis stictogaster, according to the original publication.
