Pristimantis achuar Elmer and Cannatella, 2008, Zootaxa, 1784: 13. Holotype: QCAZ25463, by original designation. Type locality: "Kapawi Jungle Lodge, Pastaza province, Ecuador (S 02° 32.32′, W 76° 51.50′, altitude 239 m)".

Distribution
Lowlands of the Pastaza and Napo valleys in southern Ecuador; likely into adjacent northern Peru.
Comment
Confused with Pristimantis ockendeni prior to its naming.
