Type locality: "Cachabé [= Cachabí], a small village on the river of that name . . . , Prov. Esmeraldas . . . about 500 feet above the sea", Ecuador. Lynch and Myers, 1983, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 175: 515, discussed this locality and noted that it is not the same as San Javier de Cachabí.
