Phrynopus ayacucho Lehr, 2007, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 159: 164. Holotype: MCZ 153057, by original designation. Type locality: "Rapi, Provincia de la Mar, Departamento de Ayacucho, Peru".

Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Cordillera de Vilcabamba, Provincia de Satipo, Departamento de Junín, Peru, at over 3000 m elevation).

Padial, Chaparro, Castroviejo-Fisher, Guayasamin, Lehr, Delgado, Vaira, Teixeira, Aguayo-Vedia, and De la Riva, 2012, Am. Mus. Novit., 3752: 27-29, provided information on habitat and life history as well as assignment on the basis of molecular data to Oreobates.
