Holotype: MHNC 6975, by original designation. Type locality: "Río Nusinuscato (13° 08′1 3.1″ S, 70° 51′ 05.8″ W; 685 m), Distrito Camanti, Provincia Quispicanchi, Departamento Cusco, Peru".

Known from two localities that are 8 km apart, one at Río Mabe and one at Río Nusinuscato, both tributaries of the Río Araza, in the headwaters of the Río Madre de Dios, in the Andean foothills, Provincia Quispicanchi, Departamento Cusco, Peru.
