Type locality: "Untuaro or Pongo, Peru, 2000 metres", possibly Departamento Amazonas, Peru, but not currently regarded as a member of the Pervian fauna.
Syrrhophus laplacai Cei, 1968, J. Herpetol., 2: 139. Holotype: IBAUNC 125-1, by original designation. Type locality: "On the road to Coroico (National road to Beni Valley), at 3 km West of Pongo, [Departamento La Paz,] in the transitional zone of Unduavi, at 3400 m.", Bolivia.
