Sminthillus brasiliensis Parker, 1926, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 9, 18: 201. Holotype: BMNH 1902.11.25.8, by original designation. Type locality: "Organ Mountains [= Serra dos Órgãos, state of Rio de Janeiro,] Brazil"; perhaps incorrect according to Izecksohn, 1988, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 48: 59-74.

Noblella brasiliensis — Cochran, 1955 "1954", Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 206: 13.

Euparkerella brasiliensis — Griffiths, 1959, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 132: 477.

English Names

Brazilian Guanabara Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 80).

Distribution

Serra dos Orgãos and coastal mountains in southeastern Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Izecksohn and Carvalho-e-Silva, 2001, Anf. Municipio Rio de Janeiro: 86, provided a brief account and photo. Hepp and Carvalho-e-Silva, 2011, Herpetol. Notes, 4: 45-61, compared the advertisement call to that of Euparkerella cochranae.
