Distribution

Isolated populations in mesic pine-oak forest in the Sierra Madre del Sur of Guerrero and southern Oaxaca, Mexico.

Comment

Not assignable to species group according to the original publication. In Eleutherodactylus (Craugastor) unassigned to species group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 234. Smith and Chiszar, 2000, Herpetol. Rev., 31: 250, provided the Oaxaca record. In the Craugastor (Hylactophryne) bocourti species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 45. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 313, who (in error) regarded the Oaxaca record as in error. Streicher, Meik, Smith, and Campbell, 2011, Amphibia-Reptilia, 32: 125-131, discussed the range as well as morphological and molecular variation among populations.
