Type locality: "7.8 km WSW Puerto Santo Tomás, 375 m, northeastern slope Montañas del Mico, Departamento de Izabal, Guatemala, . . . . This locality is located on the eastern slopes of the Montañas del Mico at about 15° 41′ N, 88° 40′ W. The town of Santo Tomás is called Puerto Santo Tomás de Castilla or Puerto Matías de Gálvez on some maps."
